Bowling Tip-RECONDITION A BOWLING BALL?
This bowling tip is a hot topic for years has been “Should I Recondition My Bowling Ball?” Especially with this economy, bowlers don’t want to buy a new bowling ball, if the old bowling ball they have trusted in the past, can be saved. And that is why you keep your old bowling ball, but when do I recondition, how do I do it, and can it be done safely with like new results, is the bowling tip question?
This bowling tip answers when. When your bowling ball was new did it drive through the pocket, consistently taking our the 5 pin, and you were getting more strikes? Well, are you rolling the ball differently, change your approach or bowling style, change your bowling alley, or did the bowling lanes change? If you said “No”, maybe your bowling ball has run out of gas, or more accurately plunged up and choking to death. Bowling ball cleaners alone, can’t cure your bowling ball’s ailments.
There is a difference in maintaining the surface of your bowling ball, and reconditioning the bowling ball surface. The first we use cleaners, polishing, and sanding. The second we remove the oils and plasticizers saturated into the bowling ball surface cover. Because the oils and plasticizers are embedded deep into the surface cover, the reconditioning process must draw them out of the bowling ball to bring the ball back to life again. This process has been proven to be safe, and can successfully restore original performance to 99.8%.
The how is checking out bowling supplies for the reconditioning kit, pictured above, which is easy to use. If you don’t want the kit, you can use Hook Again treatment alone using a plastic bag. But be sure the bag is snug around the bowling ball, so the treatment covers the bowling ball. Also, fill the figure holes with tissues, so not to waste any treatment. I have used the Kit recently. It does work well, on a couple of my old bowling balls, giving them more pocket drive. So, I would recommend the treatment, because it works.
I know bowlers have left bowling balls in the oven, out in the heat of summer, or in hot water to remove the dirt and oil embedded in the bowling ball cover. I also know bowlers who use rubbing alcohol to clean their bowling balls too. But, I haven’t read any of these practices being recommend. Play it safe with your bowling ball, and your bowling ball will live again. IT’S A LIVE, IT’S A LIVE, AGAIN!!!
Vacations and Bowling Gear?
Well, why not? If your on vacation check out the local bowling alley too. Grab your bowling gear and throw it in the car. You may be surprised to see the variations in bowling alley design and functionality.
So what does the two pictures have in common? The bowling alley is under the North Portico
of the White House. The first bowling alley was put in for President Truman in the West Wing 1947. All though President Truman didn’t care for bowling, his staff did and even started a league. The bowling alley moved to the Old Executive Office Building in 1955. Then in 1969, President Nixon with private contributions, built the bowling alley at it’s present location. So you never know when, you may run in to a bowling alley? SO BE PREPARED, RIGHT?

Bowling in American Society
Bowling is an iconic American sport that showcases the camaraderie and competitive nature that is prototypical of the nation’s people. This classic sport has been the focal point in two classic cult movies: Kingpin and The Big Lebowski. While Kingpin centers on the attempts of the main character to rekindle his bowling career, bowling simply serves as a backdrop for many classic scenes from The Big Lebowski.
The three main characters in The Big Lebowski take part in their local bowling league, and the competition is heated to say the least. While the rest of the movie is filled with drama, when the characters pull out their bowling gear, it serves as a reprieve from the concerns of the rest of their lives. In American society, bowling often serves this same purpose.
Bowling Gear For Your Game.
Bowling gear covers everything, and these bowling supplies will help, to improve your consistency.
If you bowl regularly or on a bowling league, a great investment would be your bowling shoes. Bowling shoes last for years, and are much cheaper than renting your bowling shoes. Plus, they are much more comfortable to wear.
Now bowling bags are necessary, if you move your bowling gear from location to location. Most bowling alleys have rental lockers on a limited basis. For bowling ball protection, both will do. But, don’t leave your bowling balls out in the weather or outside in the car trunk or building for any length of time. This can damage the structure of your bowling balls. Also, use bowling ball cleaner on your bowling ball, after or before you bowl for consistent ball reaction.
Wrist supports, take the pressure off your wrist and aids in a more consistent release of the bowling ball. Usually less is more with wrist supports, start with the smaller versions first, and if you want to later, progress up to the more advanced versions. Remember, wrist support are suppose to limit your wrist motion, so you will lose some flexibility by using them.
Finally, if your thumb sticks, you can’t hold on to the bowling ball, your finger holes are not big enough, or your shoe sticks on the approach, there is a remedy. Just ask at the bowling alley counter or your friends, what they have available. Remember only use it if you have to, and sparingly. Once it done, it may not be reversed.
Bowling Tips for Beginners, Picking a Bowling Ball.
This is a very important decision, especially if you are a beginner bowler. The best bowling tips for beginner bowlers is, if your not sure of your bowling skills, would be to watch and talk to your bowling friends. See what type of custom bowling ball they use, and evaluate which custom bowling ball would be right for you. Don’t pick a very aggressive bowling ball, because you may not be ready for the hook potential, thus having problems with your control. Control is most important when your bowler. Hitting the pocket, and picking up spares will be a big part of your early success. This will also increase your average greatly. So select a custom bowling ball that is the middle of the road to grow with. Be sure your custom bowling ball is drilled properly by the bowling alley or pro shop. Kids Bowling Balls.
Kids bowling balls are very colorfully designed. Kids bowling balls are usually made of plastic. The weights range from 6 , 8, 10, 12, 14, 15, and 16 pounds. Most importantly, do not buy kids bowling balls that are too heavy for your child. Too heavy a bowling ball can injury their young wrist and arms. One way to check the right weight, is while bowling at the bowling alley, let them try different weights of house bowling balls. When drilling kids bowling balls be sure the finger holes are comfortable, so to prevent any stress on their fingers. For a professional job, have the bowling ball drilled by the bowling center or a professional bowling shop. They can also recommend the proper weight for your child too.
Finally, find kids bowling balls that the child will like and want to own. After all, the more they like the bowling ball, the more they will bowl. This may sound very elementary, but kids have a fragile self image. Picking a bowling ball that they don’t like, could damage their self esteem. So let them pick out the bowling ball they will be happy to use over and over, and will not be embarrassed by with their friends. Remember the happier the bowler, the more they will want to bowl. You can tell!

Womens Bowling Shoes Looking Good.
Womens bowling shoes originally were a smaller version of the men bowling shoes, if you could find them. Maybe some added color here or there, to make the bowling shoes more feminine, rated as womens bowling shoes. Not a lot of choice in the matter, women started to purchase the few stylist womens bowling shoes that they could find, or started to add style to their own bowling shoes. So finally, the manufacturers noticed what women had to do to add style to their bowling shoes, and started to cater to their needs. Well surprise, the womens bowling shoes started to sell and sell, to the manufacturer’s astonishment. Because of the increased interest, manufacturers jumped into a untapped bowling shoe market with better designs and variety.
But now, women are very active bowlers and competitive with their male counterparts. Many women are competitively bowling on men bowling leagues, and womens bowling shoes are just as competitive, in style and functionally. Yes, bowling has come a long way, especially with the fairer sex.

Wednesday Night Bowling
After ending my career as a collegiate athlete, I began to look for other avenues to satisfy my competitive urges. Not having enough time to go into intensive physical training, I wanted to find a sport that I could participate in casually but still be competitive. I found a local bowling alley that offered leagues on Wednesday nights, and after attending a few times I was hooked.
My friends and I scrambled to put together a team before the next league started and even had our own custom bowling shirts printed up. Admittedly, we struggled in our first few matches, as we were far from seasoned pros. We have definitely improved as the season has progressed, but I think that we’ll have to wait until next year to vie for the title.
Bowling Tips-Ball Revolutions and Control.
Did you realize that the type of finger grip, will limit your bowling balls revolutions? Well, the fingertip grip gives the bowler the most revolutions and is harder to control. The conventional grip, seen on the left, is easier to control and has the least leverage or revolutions.
So the bowling tip is, don’t go out to change all your bowling balls to a fingertip grips, at least not yet. A good bowler showed me a trick, just tuck your little finger under when holding and releasing the bowling ball. By tucking and not spreading out the little finger, as seen on the left, your ball will have more side roll or revolutions. So Bingo!
If your high rev. bowling ball now, gets out of control or wild, due to dry lanes for example, what do you do? Go Back to spreading your little finger out when you release the bowling ball to control the revolutions, and usually the wider curve! Remember, control is very important, especially for our spares, right?
