This Bowling Alley Is Too Good For Me! | bowling tip
Well maybe it’s me, but this bowling tip has been bothering me for a while now. Have you ever walked into one of these new upscale bowling centers? Theses bowling centers are so nice, that I feel I should go out and buy better bowling gear, just to bowl there? With the big screen TVs, sofas, carpeting, fancy lighting, and bars, I have to pinch myself, to believe I’m in a bowling alley, I mean a bowling center?
But my bowling tip question is, does your Game improve or is it distracted by the decor? It’s like if you dress up to go bowling, does your Game suffer? When you bowl are you relaxed, or are you afraid of damaging the decor? And what’s up with the lights, can you bowl like that? Maybe I’m missing the point? This is not about bowling, it is about entertainment? Raking in to the cash for a higher level bowling experience? Is that possible? Boy, if I was sitting on one of these sofas with a beer, you couldn’t get me up to bowl. I would stay seated and guard the sofa and beer. But if I did bowl, my body would be so relaxed, the ball could end up going anywhere. Because, your so relaxed that you forget why you are there? And maybe, this is the whole point. The experience of the surroundings is the entertainment, not the bowling. The bowling is an excuse to be there. So you can watch a big screen TV while bowling, and not just sitting at a bar or at home on your sofa.
Let’s face it, most of the time these bowling centers cater to the recreational bowler, and social bowler. This maybe a new term coined here in the bowling vernacular. This bowling tip term as I see it, is a step beyond a recreational bowler and more like a bowling party bowler or casual bowler. The social bowler is there for the party, and may only bowl a few times a year, for fun of course. What bowling skills they lack, as compared to the recreational bowler, is made up with childlike enthusiasm for the Game. But don’t get me wrong, a bowler is a bowler. Bring them all into the game of bowling, for a variety of entertainment value. Hey, as long as the people enjoy the Game, who am I to say how they should play the Game?

Playing The Lanes? | bowling tip
I heard of playing the lanes, but this bowling tip is carrying it to extreme. So, what do the bowlers do? Stand and hold lighters? Dance? Bowl? Sit and order dinner? Am I missing something?
Well if the bowlers bowl, as one possible bowling tip scenario. Do they bowl around the musicians, or next to them? We know you can’t bowl through them, right? But if everyone bowls, can you hear the music? Would the bowling noise distract the musicians? Would anyone know, if it did? Or if it did, would it distract a bowler? Can you bowl, if you don’t like that song? Or can you make requests, and then bowl when they play your song?
Maybe the bowling tip scenario is, the bowlers only listen to the band? But how does the house make any money, charge admission, or a cover charge? Would there be any bowlers then? Maybe only concert type audience? But in a bowling alley? Or is it a mix of bowling and dancing? Can you dance and bowl? Don’t you get dizzy?
I believe this is the best bowling tip scenario. It’s a dinner. You pay for a show and a dinner, plus you can bowl afterwards? Then the house gets in on all sides. What a country?

Free Bowling For The Family. | bowling tip
This bowling tip is for anyone who is looking for a deal. Tony’s Pizza has free bowling coupons on specially marked boxes of pizza. What a cheap way to take out the family or friends for a game of bowling. Also check out Jolly Time Popcorn for free bowling coupon offers, too.
So the bowling tip is, keep your sees open for these two companies, because they frequently support bowling. A good place to check out for free coupons, and other offers is www.GoBowling.Com. You can even find the bowling alley near you, so you can cash in on the free game of bowling. They also have funny commercial spots you can watch too. “Now for something completely different”, as in Monty Python comedy, this can be a very cheap way to go out? It would also be a good idea as a family get together, as well as, showing off your old bowling skills. You can probably give the kids a few pointers along the way, too.
So this bowling tip is about getting the family or friends out, and enjoying a game of bowling again. Maybe it’s been too long, since the last time you visited the bowling alley. Well here’s your chance, along with a deal. So then brush off your old bowling ball and shoes, if you can find them, and enjoy a game on the house.
Why Use Fancy Bowling Pins-bowling tip.
Everything is changing, so why not bowling with this bowling tip. Sure the old Game has the white pins, or some different color pins for fun tournaments. But lets go a little further, and check out the advantages of this bowling tip.
1. Highly polished bowling pins are harder to knock down, because the bowling ball slides off of them.
2. Very colorful, which adds beauty to the old Game.
3. Imagine the black light affects?
4. They are so glossy, you can see yourself bowling.
5. At least they don’t blend in?
6. Remember, don’t look at the pins, don’t look at the pins, don’t look at the pins?
7. You can see the colorful pins reflected on the bowling lanes.
8. Less wear on the bowling pins, because of the high gloss clear coat wax finish.
9. Now bowling outfits can match the bowling pins too.
10. Bowling machines may have a hard time picking up the slippery high gloss pins.
11. Makes spare shots easier, you can’t miss the pins?
12. Makes you wonder what else can be brighten up, the bowling lanes, gutters, approach, or may be the ball return to match the pins.
Sure there will be some skeptics to this bowling tip, but so there were for electricity, the Hula Hoop, the Pet Rock, Smile Button, Atari, automobiles, telephones, wireless service, computers, and even the internet? All innovations must start somewhere? Now, how can we change the bowling ball? May be lasers?

Walking Toward Your Mark, bowling tip.
Many bowlers have trouble with this bowling tip. If you think about it, keeping your body aligned with your mark is a must for a proper release. For example, watch YOUTH Coach /Instructor, Nick Hinds eyes at southtransitbowl.com and where his body is pointing. His body is lined up with his mark, and so is his arm and legs.
Remember, your arm must stay next to your body for maximum leverage. So, the bowling tip is, walk toward your mark and not toward the bowling pins. The reason is, if you walk toward the head pin and your mark is to the right side of lane, your arm will have to turn away from your body to reach out to your mark. In other words, your body is going straight and your arm is trying to swing over to the right. Physically, not good! So line up your approach to the mark you are trying to hit. Forget the pins and concentrate on your mark.
Another way to think about this bowling tip is, your arm needs to stay next to your body. Then your body must be lined up with your mark, so your arm swing can stay next to your body. If your body isn’t lined up, neither is your swing. This is one of the main reasons bowlers miss their marks, they are reaching out too far away from their bodies to hit their marks.
So, when you set up on your approach, only concentrate on your mark and your release, not walking toward the pins. You will find an easier and more powerful release, by being lined up, and a lot less reaching for your mark. Keep the Game simple, it is tough enough as it is, don’t make any tougher.

Using Too Much Hook? | bowling tip
What do you mean by this bowling tip, too much hook? Did you ever watch a bowler with an aggregated lift, where his hand goes up to the ceiling? Did you ever notice, he had problems controlling the ball too? Well?
This is a two part bowling tip. First, lets start with the speed of you arm swing. The arm swing speed will control how far down the lane your bowling ball will go. For example, if you speed up your arm swing up, your bowling ball will travel further down the lanes before breaking. On drier lanes, more speed will help control the bowling ball’s breaking action. As compared to slowing down your arm speed, which will help the bowling ball to grip sooner on oilier lanes.
The second bowling tip is your wrist action. If you give a strong lift, your bowling ball will have more action at the back end going into the pocket. This will help on oily lanes to get traction. Now on drier lanes less lift will help to control your bowling ball from over hooking. So you can increase your lift for oilier lanes and decrease on drier lanes, to control your bowling ball.
Final bowling tip is putting it together. The lanes are oily, so you slow down your swing and put more hand, or fingers, or lift on the bowling ball to gain traction on the lanes. Of course the opposite is true for drier lanes, you increase your arm speed, and less lift on the bowling ball. If you think about it, by slowing down your arm speed, you will have more time to put additional lift on the bowling ball. Whereas, if you are using a faster arm swing, your time is shortened and you can’t lift the bowling ball as well.
Yes I know, it sounds so easy, but putting it into practice is the trick. Remember you can over hook the bowling ball and loose control, so think about these bowling tips. You don’t need to throw a large hook ball, just a hook ball that’s under control.

Where Are The Bowling Team Sponsors? | bowling tip
This is my favorite bowling tip. So many bowling teams have trouble finding sponsorships, and many are looking in the wrong places. Yes, it isn’t always the big companies that sponsor bowling teams, but the companies people don’t know about, that needs the publicity.
This bowling tip is about exposure, by bowling team advertising. Of course, if you work for a large company and you have access to a team sponsorship, take it. But if you don’t, lets start looking around. Businesses off the beaten path are great to start off with. These business are doing well, but many people don’t go pass them, to see their businesses. I called them, invisible businesses that need exposure. Sure they have ads in the phone book and newspaper, but there, they are competing with the others too. And lets face it, there are a lot of ads. So these businesses may be interested in a new and different ad campaign, your team. First off they will be interested in the cost, how long has your team been bowling together, and who sponsored your team last? But the main selling point is; will the team stay together for a whole season, how many other teams bowl with you, and if this will be an on going sponsorship? The sponsor fee and bowling shirts are the cost factors. The league sponsor fee isn’t negotiable, but if your team should have bowling shirts and at what cost are? The team can start off with bowling t-shirts, if the sponsor is tight or on the fence, the first year. Or, negotiate for a multiple year sponsorship with a better quality bowling shirt. Then, either you collect the bowling shirts after the season, or keep the same bowlers. Also for this to work, each bowling team member must take good care of the bowling shirt throughout the season. Don’t forget to have the sponsor involved with the bowling shirt selection, and during the season, keep the sponsor updated with the bowling teams position, too. By keeping in touch with your sponsor, you are setting up next years sponsorship too.
Now the bowling tip about large company sponsorships. Many times you have to go through the headquarters for an O.K. This can take time, and most of the time doesn’t happen, unless the store manager, you are working with, has a say. If it happens, it will be worth it, because they must want a local sponsorship image, or a hometown business image. So if you can work with a manager that is interested in your bowling team’s sponsorship, you may have a foot in the door. Usually, this will evolve into a long term sponsorship, if you keep everyone informed.
So the bowling tip about sponsorships is, sell the advertising aspect, and work with the costs, if necessary. Once in the door don’t be a stranger, and keep the sponsor up to date on the bowling team’s efforts. A good sponsorship is a partnership, you give something and they give something, so both are satisfied with the deal.

Who Do You Want On Your Bowling Team? | bowling tip
For many people this is an easy bowling tip, your friends. Well maybe not? There are some pit falls with your friends that you don’t have with your acquaintances.
Friends on a bowling team bowling tip is, will your friends take the Game the same way you do? For example, if they like to joke around and aren’t competitive, or if they are very competitive, these two don’t usually mix on a team. The competitive bowlers will be frustrated by the good time bowlers, who’s not trying to improve or take the Game seriously. So they fight back and forth about how serious they should be about the Game. The best is to have sports types together because of their sport competitiveness, or non-sports types that just like showing up. Also, friends are touchy about criticism, so you can strain a friendship by bowling together.
Now acquaintances on the other hand is a different bowling tip. With acquaintances, the friendship limits or boundaries are not there, so an open discussion is easier and more direct. Also, you can let an acquaintance go off the team and not destroy a friendship. Acquaintances can be anyone from someone at the bowling alley you met, to the guy at the gas station you joke around with. Selecting a team can be made up of different acquaintances, who may not even know each other. In my case it has worked out, as long as one of them isn’t a self-professed Professional Bowler? Who happened to know everything about bowling and we were dummies. That didn’t work? Luckily, he quit! So we replaced him with a beginning bowler, and we now know more about bowling, than he does. For some reason that worked out?
So basically the bowling tip is, select like minded bowlers and look out for friendships, so then your bowling team has the flexibility of growing together. Remember, you don’t have to be good friends to enjoy each others company, just have a common interest and goal. Just look at World Championship teams, they don’t like everyone on the team, but they stick together to compete and enjoy each others company during the Game. After the Game, you’re on your own!

What To Do With A Poor Bowler? | bowling tip
Well this bowling tip is a little touchy, if you need the bowler or you like the bowler, then you will have to encourage and instruct them, so they will fit into your team’s chemistry. Lets be real, if a bowler doesn’t fit into the team chemistry, they will destroy the team. I have seem teams struggle with this for years, trying to make it work, but it doesn’t. The team members start to fight among themselves, and destroy what chemistry they once had. The idea team will hold up one another, and wants everyone to contribute their best. If a bowler is perceived to be a slacker, or don’t care about the team or it’s members, the team is in trouble. I have seem teams kick the bowler off the team, and pay for that bowler’s fees, rather than to bowl with them for the rest of the season. It sounds extreme, but if bowling teams have been together for decades, it makes sense. Especially, when long time friendships are involved. Going bowling with your team should be an enjoyable experience, you look forward to every week. If the enjoyment stops, something is wrong. That something must be addressed, or the rest of the season or even the bowling team will fall apart.
So what are your options in this bowling tip?
1. Work with the members of the team to see what the problems are. Then, try to address them to the teams satisfaction.
2. If nothing can be done to the teams satisfaction, replace the bowler and let them know it didn’t work out.
3. Help the bowler on to another team that is short a bowler.
4. Don’t ask him back next year, if it is at the end of the season.
5. Evaluate your team and it’s members, if they are too picky or too selective?
6. Work through the season, and change or start a new team next season, if the members can’t work together.
7. If the fun and games of managing a bowling team is too much? Join a different team next year, and just be a bowling member of that team.
8. Finally have the team find a replace for the bowler, if they can’t, the team will keep him till the end of the season.
Relationships with friends isn’t always smooth. Just because you get along with a person, doesn’t mean your team will, that’s the bowling tip. So think it over and maybe invite a perspective teammate over to bowl with the team at a practice session? See if the team and the perspective bowler get along. Ask the team later, if they would like to have him on the team? In this case scenario, the team accepts the new bowler, not just you, so later you’re not the fall guy. Teams are chemistry, made up of individuals who don’t have anything in common or even like each other, except as a members of the bowling team. For some reason a member on a bowling team, no matter what you think about them, if they can contribute and support, they are a good team member. I have seen it over and over, the only time you see these guys together is bowling on the team. Just like a softball or jockey team, the members don’t have to like each other, just play well together and have fun!

Comments By A Serious Bowler? | bowling tip
Now lets look at the comments of a serious bowler as the next bowling tip. The bowling tip comments will reflect the differences between recreational and serious bowlers and their overview of the Game. See if these comments hit home?
1. I should put more tape in my thumb hole.
2. This ball isn’t cutting in tonight, I’ll have to change balls.
3. The lanes are heavier than normal, I need a ball with more bit.
4. I think, I can play the outside line for the first Game?
5. I knew, I should have sanded that bowling ball?
6. The back ends are dry.
7. The second arrow and out should be drier.
8. The lanes a drier, so I’ll have to move inside.
9. To keep this ball, I’ll need to increase my speed.
10. This line is “burned out”.
11. I better put my brace on, if I’m going to keep this pace up.
12. I didn’t lift the ball that time.
13. I have to tighten up my spare shots with these oily lanes.
14. This is so dry, I may have to use my spare ball.
15. Who oiled these lanes?

29. I have to watch my average the first few weeks, to keep it low enough.
30. Where was he at last week?
The bowling tip comments are interesting, because it shows the depth of bowling knowledge being used in a Game. But then again, knowing it and being gifted enough to use it, is a bowlers total Game package. Many of us know what to do, but we can’t do it consistently. Sometimes it just boils down to the talented and the learners. Some of us will be learners for the rest of our lives. So don’t get frustrated with yourself, some of us just don’t have the talent, but we all can have fun. And maybe this is the cross the talented bowlers have to carry, knowing they are talented and not fully meeting their own high standards. Well maybe a learner is the better deal, at least I have an excuse for my fun and enjoyment of the Game. I’m still a learner!
