Kids Bowling Party?

bowling partyGet the kids out of the house and into someone else’ s house, the bowling center for a bowling party! Let the bowling center cater the food and clean up. All you have to do is watch the kids and organize bowling games. Some bowling centers may even do organized bowling games for you.

You can order your own bowling party supplies, to decorate the party area or room, if the bowling center doesn’t. Send out the bowling party invitations to the guests.  Then sit back and let the kids be kids, eat and trier themselves out. The advantage is, the kids are in a controlled area, and not running all over the neighborhood and your house.

Also, bowling party prizes can be given to everyone, or to only bowling game category winners. Awards can be given for the highest score, the lowest score, the first spare, the first strike, the first gutter ball, the most improved, most pins improved, the best sport, the best try, the funniest ball, etc.

Bowling parties are more common now, but still are fun, and are strongly supported  by bowling centers. So, get out of the house and kick back, you have help at the bowling center.

Bowling with Friends, Bowling Tips.

When you want to just relax with friends at the bowling center, and have a casual bowling party. I have a few bowling tips to share. Normally, everyone bowls a game and relaxes. After the first game, try a dutch doubles. Each team has 2 bowlers. Each bowler rolls one ball at a time. For example, bowler #1 rolls the first ball and gets 6 pins down. Bowler #2 then tries to pick up the other 4 for a spare. If bowler #1 gets a strike, then bowler #2 starts the next frame. By mixing team members every game, the competition is taken out of having the same 2 members bowling together.

Another variation is to have each member of the team bowl one frame. Then the next frame have the other bowler bowl that frame. Members can also be rotated to different team combinations, and you can have 2 or 3 members on a team.

Then finally, you can handicap bowlers. For example, if a bowler has a 140 average and the best bowler has a 180 average, the difference is 40 pins. So take the 40 pins multiply by 90%, or 80% to get a handicap of 36 or 32 pins. Now, we have any or all the bowlers matched up with the best bowler, by using this formula.  The 140 + 36 handicap = 176, bowling a 180 bowler. Sounds fair? Usually, a 100% isn’t used. Also, it gives the higher average bowler a few pins, in case of a melt down.

My final bowling tip for bowling with your friends is, use only house bowling balls.  This is one way of leveling the playing field, especially if, some of your friends don’t have bowling balls. Remember you are just out for fun, not to show off your bowling skills. This will also improve your bowling accuracy, and make your non-bowling friends more comfortable with their bowling skills.

I hope some of these ideas help, in breaking down barriers between non-bowlers, and a more casual bowling  atmosphere. If you want to have fun with your friends, you need to laugh at yourself, first. Enjoy your friends, and don’t take yourself too curious!

It Is Bowling Party Time?

Let’s have the party outside the house this year? Have your party at the bowling alley, and save the mess. Kids birthday parties are very common, because bowling alleys have bowling party package deals available. The kids can drain their energy on the bowling lanes, plus they can eat there too. So no mess or clean up.

Bowling parties can also be for adults too. The bowling party is a casual atmosphere. Party guests can mingle more with each other and share stories. In most social affairs, the same individuals group together. But at a bowling party, they can be divided up into teams. The relaxed environment also adds in individual interaction, and relationships. Some party groups could come  from church, neighborhoods, work, volunteer organizations, schools, charity or benefit organizers, and even awarded to your group for a good job.  The mixing of the people, strengthens relationships, especially between new and older  members. This could even be used for your team at work, so individuals meet outside of the work environment?

Remember, even though people make fun of bowlers being sports athletes. Not anyone should try to bowl, especially non-bowlers. Use your own discretion, but I think this idea has merit as a mixer or social barrier breaker. Enjoy yourself, your friends, and let the good times roll!
